In the period since the first national lockdown there were 894 sales. This put the area firmly into the number one position.
However, the second spot went to E14 in Tower Hamlets, an Inner Borough even if it is not a prime market. There were 759 transactions here.
Three other areas in Inner London also appear on the top ten list. This includes SW18 and SW11 with 622 and 614 sales respectively. Both of these locations are in the increasingly popular Wandsworth. Maybe most surprisingly, SW6 in Hammersmith and Fulham also saw high sales with 518. This is a prime area.
In truth only one other area on the top ten list is firmly in Outer London. This is E17 in Waltham Forest. The 584 sales here were enough for fifth place.
Compromising
Maybe most interesting is that more people are looking at locations that border Inner and Outer London. These areas can offer a great compromise in that they are further from the city centre and have more space but don’t mean very long commutes. Postcodes on the top ten list in these locations include SE10, SW16, SW19, and SW17. The first is in Greenwich while the other three are all in Wandsworth.
