If you are a tenant about to move into a property we are managing, we aim to keep you fully informed about the entire process so you know exactly what to expect.
When you are moving into the property, you will be met by one of our placement officers, who will show you around and inform you about anything you need to know, such as using the heating and how to protect yourself from fire risks, and give you your keys. We provide a full support service for tenant including out of hours contact so you can get in touch in case of an emergency. At this point, you will also be given these details. Landlords can rest assured that their new tenant will be fully informed about everything they need to know, so your property will be protected.
Before moving in, you will need to complete a form which confirms you are satisfied with the state of the property and that you have been informed about everything you need to know. This will help to protect against possible disputes in the future and let us know that we are doing a good job. Once you move in, it’s your responsibility to register utilities in your name and to get another set of keys cut, should you wish to.
At the end of the tenancy, it’s important to inform us as soon as possible, and book an appointment so we can carry out a final inspection, make sure the property is being left in its original state and determine any charges that may be made. Please make sure to clean the property before you leave and take all your possessions with you. At this stage you are also required to hand in all your keys, gas meter cards and other items.
