Plans for 300 homes in Merton

The housing association Clarion has submitted plans to build almost 300 homes. The properties will be in Merton across three schemes as a part of the £1bn regeneration scheme for the borough.

Clarion has the reserved matters planning applications for the 284 homes. They hope to build these at Ravensbury and Eastfields in Mitcham as well as High Path in south Wimbledon. 191 of the 284 homes will be for social rent, and 93 of them will be for private sale. The application also includes 160 sqm of community space.

The housing association already has outline planning permission for some of its work. Clarion is delivering 2,800 new homes which include 740 social rented units as well as 9,000 sqm of community and commercial space. This is across three Merton neighbourhoods.

Clarion says they have been working alongside the local community and residents. As a result it will improve the scheme designs, including the landscaping and home layouts.
